Diabetic Foot Care

It is no secret that diabetic patients have an increased risk of developing foot problems such as broken bones, skin infection, ulcers and many other conditions. Foot health for diabetic patients is an absolute requirement and contributes to the overall health of the patient. Arkansas Foot & Ankle Specialists will take a comprehensive approach to treat a diabetic foot.

A diabetic foot exam should include an assessment of blood flow, nerve function, dermatology and muscle / joint function. Serious complications can occur to the legs and feet as a result of diabetes. Even untreated calluses can result in infected ulcerations that lead to amputations that could have been avoided. Patients with diabetes should have an exam performed at least once a year.

Please call the office to schedule a routine exam, or if you already have a problem that is not getting better.
